It is a new week and it starts off with a thunderstorm in Michigan.

I was so drained last night that I fell asleep with war documentaries on. Usually, that gets me to dream about battlefields and such, but it didn't seem to happen this time.

But I feel pretty good.

In the world of comics and animation, I have a lot on my plate. I hope my little "once a week" idea works. Maybe I should bump it up to "twice a week"? Watch maybe two - three hours worth of shows.

I don't think I'm into watching TV for a long time.

Also, it looks like I caught a virus that has disabled my AntiVirus. How long will my computer last?

Man, Woman, Football and Cars

Sports Sunday! Lions and Tigers won. Tigers-are-kicking-butt!

On NicoDouga, there are a lot of Motor sports videos. I watched one with bikes, F-1, and Group B cars doing some cool moves along with, I think, Lady Gaga, Pitbull, and Shakira music. In some parts, the music fits to make it fun.

And Freako MikiShin... admirable and crazy at the same time. First, I found these translated Animedia Seiyuu Data Files (2011) and Mikishin's answers were basically 'Hmm." and "Secret". Typical! (Also, Daisuke Kishio's answers are crazy...)

But I bring him up because he also has a love of cars and bikes. And, it looks like he's going to appear at the AG86 Festival at the Okayama International Circuit. I think just speaking, not driving. Heheh...TAKUMI!.

Animation/TV and games
Like I said before, "Two days a week", two hours on each of those days. Or, just twice a week, pick an anime and a "hour goal". This is mainly for TV series.

For example, for Monday I pick GPX CYBER FORMULA and Shurato, and spend three hours watching (6 eps, three for each series).

I think I'll go along with that today.

Last time I was strongly devoted to staring at the TV (or a screen) was playing Breath of Fire IV a couple weeks ago. I was racking up Fishing Points (it'd be awesome if I got MAX pts) and attaining masters before I head for the final parts of the game. I just past...a traumatic part in the game. (>_<) Orrrg. I'm near the end of Breath of Fire 3 too. Ahh the nostalgia, I love it. I'm glad I kept my CDs.

And I kind of want to get back into Stop!! Hibari-Kun cause it was so crazy.

I was also recommended Higurashi_When_They_Cry (ひぐらしのなく頃に). SOUL BROTHAS!

Siiiiiiiiigh.

Another day may be three Tekkaman Blade and three either Casshern or Getbackers.

I probably shouldn't watch the Tekka OVAs should I?

Also, I remembered that I was watching Violinist of Hameln (Ueda Yuji ver.!)

Comics
I am recommended HUNTER X HUNTER...which is over 300 chapters. I guess, since I was able to get through Katekyo Hitman Reborn", I could do the same with Hunter.

Maybe I'm impatient?

I still have CLAYMORE and Nabari No Ou, the latter's still bothering me and questioning my comprehension level.

Vid time! Kinect Show!

In the United States this week, two criminals on Death Row were executed and had wide media attention. One was apparently innocent, alleged to have shot someone.

Because of the radio talk on it, I had some thoughts since I knew I talked about capital punishment.

But I was further inspired to express this because of particular YouTube Videos. It's like, from Youtube vids, my home state of Michigan (or just the city of Detroit) is widely associated with crime.

People say killing is wrong, or the death penalty is wrong. Shortly before he was executed, Mr. Troy Davis said "God Bless" (or "May God Forgive you") as his last words.

I know if I lost a family member to a shooting, gang crime, stabbing, etc. I'd be so angry.

What about you?

Aside from that, I watched Kamen Rider FOURZE. I'm still surprised that Kamen Rider has been around for fourty years. Also, Nobuyuki Hiyama is the Narrator.

SWITCH ON!

It's SPACE TIME! (宇宙、キタ━━━━━━(゚∀゚)━━━━━━!!!) Maybe we should follow Gentarou's example: make friends with everybody.

ARTICLE: http://ontd-political.livejournal.com/8715980.html

THIS is by no means surprising. I knew that this was often seen across the net, but I am happy to find an actual article. I only time I actually talked about it was here, and I probably feared being unable to explain it well.

I've been ignoring it a lot though. Such a problem is so common among net comments, that I'd end up arguing a lot about it on my blog.

There were even a lot of people like that the online RP games I've visited. I knew something was bugging me. Imagine such people in charge.

My main thoughts were, "20 somethings are using the same words".

To tell you the truth, I'm not sure if I knew what "fa***t" meant when I was like 13-14. I heard kids say "gay" and got really confused, like what does that have to do with me. The words also rubbed me the wrong way. You can sense an air of condescending towards kids who bully or use those words.

Jamey Rodemeyer needed help. At 14, he was grappling with adolescent demons that could torment grown men.

And when he was online, he wrote about it.

"I always say how bullied I am, but no one listens," he wrote Sept. 9. "What do I have to do so people will listen to me?"

Just over one week later, Jamey was found dead outside his home of an apparent suicide. )

RENO, Nev. — The death toll rose to nine Saturday in an air race crash in Reno as investigators determined that several spectators were killed on impact as the 1940s-model plane appeared to lose a piece of its tail before slamming like a missile into a crowded tarmac.

I wish the footage on the news would stop being shown on repeat...

Impressions of a Pilot

Flight is freedom in its purest form,
To dance with the clouds which follow a storm;
To roll and glide, to wheel and spin,
To feel the joy that swells within;

To leave the earth with its troubles and fly,
And know the warmth of a clear spring sky;
Then back to earth at the end of a day,
Released from the tensions which melted away.

Should my end come while I am in flight,
Whether brightest day or darkest night;
Spare me your pity and shrug off the pain,
Secure in the knowledge that I'd do it again;

For each of us is created to die,
And within me I know,
I was born to fly.

Hello Saturday. SO far, I posted my recent impressions of MOTHER 3 and Cyber Formula, and as I promised here's another Sonic Memory.

For the forth memory, I had three former ideas: Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic CD, or a Game Gear game. I wanted to stay with console games and ultimately decided on SONIC SPINBALL. Maybe because it would take less time to type about.

Here's a TAS/speedrun of the entire game.

Sorry no photo. I used to own Sonic Spinball, and beaten it only once. Not only was SPINBALL unconventional in gameplay compared to the other Sonic games, it only had four stages AND it was a difficult game. I guess the difficulty made me determined to continue playing it and work on my mistakes IN SHOOTING ACCURACY! Or should I say "flipper accuracy"?

Sonic didn't have much places to run through, so his movement was dependable through the use of flippers, boosters, slides, etc. Flippers were frustrating, as were traps and collapsible BS. And you had to progress through the game by collecting Chaos Emerald. Sometimes three, sometimes five or six. Maybe it was six total. So you had to search and survive; luckily, no time limit.

SPINBALL also had a traumatic moment or two ;) IMO anyways. A robot snake that tries to eat you in the first level and an ugly boss in the second level is what I can recall.

Fourth/final level was some difficult @#*!. Maybe that's the trauma, the whole thing. and a volcano?

If there's something I actually loved about SPINBALL, it was ITS MUSIC. Once again, 16-bit Sonic (or 16-bit Sega period) gives off some of the most entertaining VG music I've ever heard.

Let's try Lava Powerhouse (2nd level)! I immediately liked it when I first heard it long ago.

Now that's what I call "rad".

Babysitting is crazy...I'm getting lack of sleep.

I'll check the other replies and post the next Sonic Memories later. I need to leave soon.

WHITE BODY! Car Mania revives! I finally started the TV Series. I'm glad to be a car enthusiasist (sort of?). Got through first three episodes. Sugo Team's Asurada is sexy, and there's the...boy x car tones. Okay, I kid, I kid.

But I wouldn't mind that car =D Real or a model. For the latter, hmm, maybe...

And Midorin or Guriba (Midorikawa Hikaru) has like the same looking rival characters in the 90s. There's Shinjyo, there's Joe/Jyou, Tamahome, and there's Kukawa. Maybe someone else. Asakim?

Kazami Hayato is a cute kid, but stubborn. OF course, his stubbornness is mixed with guts. I'm glad that he's a rookie and he actually had trouble driving the Asurada on the track.

Here's the OP theme:

Hmmm, was I in school, returning to class? bathroom?

It was around-the-clock footage, updates and repeated info, so you lose track of when and where you first heard about it. I think I was a entering a room, then on the TV I saw smoke coming from the WTC. Lots of eyes were glued to the TV of course.

There have been many crimes and terror attacks in America, but this one was the most astonishing to see for some reason. I don't think, like with school shootings, which are tragedies in themselves, I watched something with that much fervor. It must've been the atmosphere of the people who were watching, and who were ON the TV. I also must have been moved by those who were trying to help who were trapped, and who were panicking.

God Bless to all who were deeply affected by the tragedy, and to the heroic men and women who fought to deter the fear.

More in news, on the sad side, Junpei Takiguchi passed away. R.I.P! I think I heard him the most as his dragonball roles and Yatterman villian role. In Western Dubbing, he's Huckleberry Hound.

And I was surprised to hear him as...D.Grayman's Millenium Earl. He made the character very fantastic. I could almost hear his voice when reading the comic.

Which by the way, I AM WAITING FORRRRRRRRR!

Hoh boy.

While I OBVIOUSLY think it could use some additions, like Furuya Toru and Furukawa Toshio (who are often associated with Tanaka Mayumi and Nozawa Masako), I think this is a nice list. I admire the energy and personality of Toshio, Kappei, and Tanaka.

I'm glad Hirata (surprise!) and Kappei are on there as well. Ogata Kenichi (who I call "Uncle Ogata" ;) ) is on there too, and many others. And even Sugiyama Kazuko!

Yamadera Kouichi seems to be No.1 everywhere.

...It's just that I'm surprised by the comments on MyAnimeList (MAL). Animenewsnetwork (ANN) isn't so bad, but MAL is awful.

The comments on there can get pretty disrespectful, and it shows the shallowness of some people if that's the right word. It's true that veterans get hired less (I'm still surprised that Hirata got to play the main character of TIger & Bunny, KOTARO!), but I think it's further worse to say something along the lines of "old people?" (along the super worshiping of Wakamoto Norio).

It's surprising enough to see avid anime fans or so it looks like saying, "I don't know most of the people on the list"...

I WAS fine with that, but some behave like as if those who are ranked high are insignificant because of their low frequency in CURRENT anime, radio, etc.

It is pretty funny though, seeing people getting worked up.

ANN's problem is the lack of Romi Paku. ;P

I believe it is August 25 in Japan, soooooooooo it's time for another voice actor birthday! Someone who's influential to me when it comes to the Japanese voice overs. Or rather, he's one of my first favorites.

アハハハハ、ィいやったあああ!! (Ahahahaha! YATTA!)

檜山修之, 御誕生日おめでとうございます!

Happy birthday to Nobuyuki Hiyama! The Wiki article explains plenty.

Fourty-four years young, huh?

Here's a simple breakdown. Sorry, it's in Spanish (VIDEO TRIBUTE):

The above character pictured is Hiei from YuYu Hakusho, probably Hiyama's first main/regular character, and Link from "Legend of Zelda". His first main, real main, was probably Maito Senpuji of "Might Gaine".

I think there are too many videos on Hiyama's appearances in which I could show, ESPECIALLY the crazy ones on NicoDouga.

Let's try Gundam, TvsC, and ONE PIECE!

On to Videos )

I believe, at one point, I had a photo of Hiyama's character VAL (of Akujushin) on my blog's header or as an icon.

Hiyama's in a lot of games, especially Otome games where he voices a lot of pretty men. Also, he appears in BL and hentai too, which...I don't completely agree with. Or maybe it's just the love scenes.

Yeah, him and love scenes...slightly strange.

He's going to re-appear as the butler Kojurro Takeda (武田 小十郎) in the upcoming "MAJOKOI S" game.

========

Since it's August, I forgot to mention Hiroaki Hirata's on here *><* Urgh. But, I mentioned his and Urara Takano's
birthday on Twitter.

Speaking of Hirata, "TIGER & BUNNY" seems to be doing well!

Hoh boy...! Okay, I'm back. My legs still hurt, especially my left knee joint that always seem to give me problems after prolonged walking, and I didn't have internet since Friday (I think). This stinks since I'm trying to clean.

Here's the topics for today

GUNDAM ORIGIN (機動戦士ガンダム THE ORIGIN)
So, Mobile Suit Gundam: THE ORIGIN is going to get animated. So I wondered, who is going to voice Bright Noa and Sayla Mass? Or is it going to get a completely new cast where new voice overs can live the dream of being in the popular "first gundam", with occasional visits from the experts? Or will it be half? With the popular characters getting new voices?

I think Gozle Zabi had a new voice actor in the Gundam 0079 movies. And will Keiko Toda come back for Matilda? And to sing? ;)

As for the upcoming known series, GundamAGE is going to broadcast in October.

CEDAR POINT Saturday!
Let's see, what's the best music and video for this? Let's try:

That swinging one at 0:46 is called SkyHawk. It's near Mine Creek Ride. Bleh. Looks scary...

I got to Cedar Point at about 10:30am and stayed til about 8pm. It was a hot day in and day out. I didn't go on a lot of the smaller rides like I usually do, I didn't go to any shows, and my leg made me struggle in walking throughout. However, I don't regret it. Since it was only a day long visit, I visited with a Climax!...if that makes sense.

I didn't beat either my "fastest coaster" or "highest coaster" record, which is I believe both held by V2 in Six Flags Great AMERICA, but I certainly went on plenty (than I usually would). After riding the Matterhorn, I began my coaster journey starting with warm ups:

+ Iron Dragon
+ Wild Cat
+ Raptor* (FINALLY!)
+ Maverick (!!!)*
+ Mine Creek Ride (cooldown...)*

* First time ride

Five out of 17. So my trip was mostly standing, waiting, going on train/Sky Ride, having a bad leg, and eating. Of course I went on some smaller rides such as the Wave Swinger.

I heard a cute "Mantis experience" story from a little girl near the WaveSwinger. ;)

Makes me sad that I couldn't play DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION (DDR) at full ability cause of my leg. Even on beginner, WOOKIE WOOKIE has jumping arrows..~_~;; *urggg) .

奇妙で、おもしろい。そして、せつない。 (Strange, Funny, and Heartrending...)

I am almost finished with the game MOTHER3 and when I do, I'll post more expressions.

All I can say is that I don't think that there was ever a game before this that has touched me so much. It's really what it says: strange as hell, funny, and sad...

It's so strange that you can get attacked by flagpoles...with smiley faces.

I'm going to keep this brief: My memories of SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 3.

I'll first start with the strange change of the opening theme (and a 3-D looking Sonic in the opening). Sonic's appearance (his icon) changed too. Also, there is the introduction of a new character, Knuckles The Echinda, who is a guardian of Floating Island.

Photobucket
Angel Island is the start level

Not much changes from the previous titles. Like Sonic 2, you go through two acts per stage and there is two player mode.

I DON'T LIKE THE SPECIAL STAGE! It would make me so nauseous and tensed up at the same time. You're set in a 3-D field to collect blue spheres. To get to the SS is that you had to find large rings in secret rooms. I wasn't fond of Sonic CD's special stage either.

Stages were fun too, from Carnival Night (even though I got stuck there for a while...) to Ice Cap. I enjoyed the tension you got from Sonic 2's Hill Top Zone, where there were earthquakes, so there was a similar tone of it in 3's Marble Garden. Marble Garden's also beautiful and has an interesting boss fight.

Music is superb too. That's something that would not wane. Sonic 3 also holds one of my favorite song tracks in the entire Sonic game series.

Lion-O has http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ShonenHair

....but is still handsome IMO.

OK! I'm going to be brief since I've calmed down and have focused on other things. Even though I felt like the first episode was rushed like a one-shot, home-only movie, I am not disappointed by the new Thundercats. Even seeing Tygra punch Lion-O in the pre-clip before the actual episode was cool at it was. ;)

Also! It was also nice to hear nostalgic voice actors such as Clancy Brown (Grune), Larry Kenney (very regal too as King Claudius), Will Freidle, Kevin Michael Richardson (Panthro) and Dee Bradley Baker. I'd like to add, since Claudis had the voice of the original Lion-O, he also retained that old corniness from the original series with a few quotes. ;)

This show also revived my love for the Sword of Omens.

And Twitter is going to make me lose brain cells...

YES!

The all new ThunderCats TV Series will debut on Cartoon Network, FRIDAY July 27. 8 PM EST, 7 CENTRAL, one full hour.

I looked back at the official site, played the game, looked at the content and the...fan forum.

They're driving me nuts!

"i like that you make a new thundercats cartoon but i don't like the new ones are too fake , i am 30 now so i woud like to see better no worst thundercats."

"thundercats is awesome!the reason why they dont look the same is because they are the classics.cant wait"

"the Robot Chiken versin is better (way better)"

"It is so cool hot i like"

"thunder cats stink first episode i watched sucked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I think I read something about a Marathon of the Classic 80s episodes airing somewhere, they must mean that. As a fan, I can't be ungrateful and argue like with Hollywood remakes. I got to see on Friday. Sure, the "nothing beats the original content" complaints may occur but so far, I'm impressed by the trailers.

+ Cheetara is smoking hot (Again?)...o-O; Heck, so is Tigra/Tygra.

+ Panthro has this weird cheek hair, unlike the original (completely bare), but it's not a bother. Just something I noticed.

+ It's TV-PG....hohohoho.

+ Original Lion-O voice over is now New Lion-O's father.

Aside from that, returning to Cartoon Network gave me a good feeling. I missed watching Tom and Jerry :) Also, I was concerned about receiving issues with my TV.

CLAYMORE & Nabari
Making good progress in CLAYMORE comic...and am I crazy for NOT hating Raki?

Sure, he's a fanbrat. He has no family, but he's very devoted. I think he's compassionate too. And was Claire any "better"?

I also need to read Nabari no Ou but it's making my head spin. I feel like a moron, like i'm having trouble fully comprehending the story as it progresses.

HEALTH
It's my throat, or sinus again. While I stopped coughing, I find myself cleaning my throat a lot. I guess it's slightly better than coughing. Not like I feel exhausted from it..

but that's what the heat is for.

Note: Embedded videos are reduced to 350 x 350 dimensions.

Time for more memories of twenty-year-old Sonic the Hedgehog. This time, I'm going to talk about the sequel of the first Sonic game, simply called Sonic The Hedgehog 2.

Features such as FANTASTIC music and stages designed to adapt to high speed are kept from the first game, but significant changes that stick out of my mind are the following:
~ The introduction of Miles "Tails" Prower the fox
~ 2 Player Mode
~ With the exception of Metropolis, Sky Chase, Wing Fortress and Death Egg, the acts of the levels are reduced from three to two.
~ New awesome special stages!
~ I think the Spin Dash in introduced
~ Introduction of SUPER SONIC

Tails...would always get bashed. I guess it's because he's slower than Sonic, his A.I is a bit incompetent, and he would mess you up in the special stages sometimes. Also the later games, where he gets a voice over, might have something to do with. But hey, he's immortal! Can't beat that. I don't hate Tails at all, and I like foxes.

In my opinion, if you like Sonic music, the theme for Emerald Hill Zone (the FIRST stage) is a big winner. It's like a start of a new day, a new Sonic game; when the music of Emerald Hill, you're swept into playing enthusiastically because you're expecting a good game and good music.

Sonic 2 had probably the funnest Special Stages; and if not, definately one of my favorite music themes in Sonic Game history. It does get tougher and frustrating in later stages, AND I think I got ALL of the emeralds ONLY once. To get the Chaos Emeralds, you are transported into a Funnel and are supposed to catch a specific amount of rings while dodging bombs.

Special Stage

Doggie TRIVIA:
~ It took me over ten years to beat the whole game because the final boss would give me a lot of trouble.

~ Mystic Cave Zone (6th stage): This stage had a caterpillar like enemy in there that was would stick out the trees to attack you. It used to scare me.

mm, what else can I say?
