Time for a tube ramble. Somehow I got some watch time in.

[ PSYCHO PASS & SekiTomo is cool-smart! ]
Who likes plastic?.
I'll first say this: Great instrumentals for the first OP "Abnormalize" (linked). The guitar and drums only though.

Now, to the show after eight eps: Basically, there is a feeling of restriction, and an underlying sense of gloom. We're measured by a hue color, which seems to represent our mental level. How coefficient we are to "stability". In the 2nd ep, there is the utilization of holograms, and it was that and the idea of a Sybil system made me think that this show has a theme of being restricted or "making a reality how we want it". A perfect reality, enough that we are willing to force people into therapy or shoot them to death if we go too deep into the abyss. Even a child can be killed if he/she exerts a criminal behavior.

The antagonist Makishima has a problem with this "reality" of keeping our hues stable, so he uses others and creates chaos. Another case of sick-dick Sakurai Takahiro. How many times has it been now? However, Makishima himself while a sicko has an interesting thought process. He seems to be an aesthetic in a fabricated "plastic world". I hope I explained this right.

I know one thing: I can see why some of these episodes got banned. And if not that (EP 8?): Read more... )

[ SHINKENGER FINISH FUCKIN' VEGETA! ]
I finally finished Shinkenger, and i'm even more determined to finish Kakuranger. I think I have yet to see a really strong FINAL from Tokusatsu. Because I was a little disappointed from Rider Fourze, Rider Wizard and Kyoryuger. Watching all the way through was very fun.

Dokoku was very fearful and it was great. I officially call ShikenGold "Japanese Jim Carrey". Takeru has like four (3 Shinkengers + Daigoyo) doofuses in his retainer group. However, the ending was important because Read more... ) It was a reminder of the adventure I went through while watching the entire show. Made me wonder if watchers of the show were upset? What confused me was Takeru's parent. I won't spoil it.

Liked Shinkenmaru! Simple, but cool, and everybody had a sword. Perfect for a samurai-theme show. Didn't like the style of the toy-like origami though or the combination.

I kept getting a gay crush on Read more... )

[ SIDONIA ]
It was weird, but fun because you could see the Staff's intelligent grasp of sci-fi element. Or maybe I should say the comic artist's creativity or familiarity of sci-fi. Even Kojima Hideo highly praised it. Maybe that is why I liked it, and how there was no fear to present...what we've seen. Whether it was as a visual or some scientific info or concept such as human bio-engineering.

I mean we're talking about alien placenta here. Also, deaths. Not only was there the intelligent grasp, there was this "dark and desperate" feeling, along with the violence, that I liked about it. Human beings, who can't make children naturally, are forced to fight for an exhibition colony (or so that's what I call it). A fixed military/population means quick promotions and drafting. There is an emphasize on fighting the gauna by any means. I like military fiction.

I'm not a fan of CGI, or the character design, and even the battles were a little hard to see. Despite that, the battles were cool though!

[ NOBUNAGA THE FOOL ]
What makes me think "Wow, this looks good" or "Oh, they're going to do that?!" or "Holy Cow!"? I like some good suspense.

The Fool was...it might be the Warring States theme. We all seen it before: fighting (and plenty of violence!) and factions making decisions. As expected, like in feudal days, so much flip-flop. I guess I could watch The Fool because it was average.

Something about The Fool that made me think that the show was just completely there. I was not particularly impressed or anything. It was just made for a time slot. I'm tired of Miyamo Mamoru being at the top of roles because watchers (or directors?) are biased, thinking he's the most suitable for a cool character. Especially a leader. Same with Kaji Yuki, although Hideyoshi was like that cool little (?) brother. It's like I always see people from Sigma Seven, Ken, and Aoni, formerly and currently. Although Sakurai, formerly 81Pro, has plenty of roles.

Round Table member Alexander's debut was good though!

Not a damn single Round Table member was named after someone from the Round Table!

I kept seeing arguments about Caesar and Akechi's romantic situations, or how Akechi was too much of an Oda dog to care for a woman. Maybe this is a subject for another time.

[ MORE/NEEDS TO GO TO WATCHLIST ]
I'm also watching Aldonoah Zero.

So Sidonia is over (for now), Nobunaga is over, Shinkenger is over, add Psycho Pass and Aldonoah. Did I add Captain Earth?

I also watched the couple eps of Jetman.

Foot pain, homesick.

This entry is mostly going to suck.

In the News
It was only yesterday that two bombs exploded near the internationally famed Boston Marathon, three people killed, one being an eight-year-old boy. My expressions were obvious shock, but it was only recently until I got a clearer view of the carnage. The footage of the explosions itself, the smoke, and the people running away were astonishing in itself. I hear about people being critically injured, had lost limbs. However, it was just today when I looked into the Free Press and saw a photo of blood everywhere on the streets...

Even K-sensei made a comment about it. "AWFUL!"

It's things like this that make me want to be in a federal service. And apparently the explosions were right at the finish line; I can't help but believe that it was right on cue for the perpetrator. Terrorism? Of course, on Twitter, Muslims are stigmatized; the word becomes a Twitter trend because of someone's negative commentary. In a post-911 world, we in America still can't seem to shake off that paranoia of Eastern religion.

I also see these words: "Hateful Democrats" "Republican horse droppings".

Politics are all in the same. I can love military, like rules, dislike guns, etc. Making decisions is liberal. When it come to these situations, crime committing and people dying, shouldn't party affiliation affect common sense? The name-calling is sad.

Japan: Seiyuu World feelings
Legendary Naya Goro passed away last month. I guess I didn't want to talk about it because it was too much that man BEAT CANCER!. So did Tsushima Takeshi from an unfortunate fall. The father of Romi Paku had died as well...I swear, her tweets and blogs can give me so many feelings. Then recently, the author of Zero no Tsukaima Yamaguchi Noboru passed away from cancer.

I felt a sense of strength from particularly Romi's father and Yamaguchi. If I recall, I think Romi said that her father was paralyzed for many years. I thought of my dad too.

Yamaguchi...oh Yamaguchi. He was sick, in and out of the hospital, and was still enthusiastic about his work. That's all I can say. I was just sad. I wasn't really a fan of the novel, the little that I read from it, but I love enthusiasm.

NARUTO: Personally...
Quick thoughts on chapter 627. This is either...

While I am into logic, and staying in character, I'm going to disregard how considerably QUICK this decision-making happened because of the good potential that can come from it. Sasuke's decision is either a sign that he wants to fix the past of his stupid ancestors, or Kishimoto is just plain tired (lol).

But Madara and Tobi are just flat out problematic. So much blood spilled over...being unable to cope. Apparently, struggle or trauma is necessary for the sharingan to develop, but why? What about the byakugan? What about the hard work of Naruto and Rock Lee?

Madara had problems with being trusted. While that is understandable, he wasn't the kind of guy who could improve trust by adjusting his actions. The fear of the Uchiha was still alive, that's true; if Madara wanted peace, couldn't he set an example for Konoha? Why did you prove Tobirama right dude? Torirama's actions were radical as well, and he did act out of his underlying mistrust. That increased suspicion within the Uchiha.

Maybe it is quite difficult: to prove yourself.

Look at Sasuke in the beginning, like during and before the chuunin exams. Even now, aside from Naruto, who will trust Sasuke?

And it's like I said before in another entry, why in the hell is it okay to live in a permanent illusion?

Time for something happy.

MIO MAO and Family
Whelp...the niece made me watch a 24/7 baby program on TV, and there is a claymation short called MIO MAO (revived version), produced by Francesco Misseri, about two small cats. I can't believe how catchy the theme song is.

"Mio, Mao, Mio Mao..la la la la la." Niece sings it too, if I sing it (lol). She does the "lalala" part.

On Sept 15 was the birthday of Hatake Kakashi from NARUTO!. For some reason, I still like this video ^^:.

^ This video is related.

Well, to explain last week: An awesome game moment (also yesterday). Niece, slightly angry Sunday.

I am liking Kamen Rider Wizard. After Fourze, I seriously need to maintain watching a happy show.

Going or not going; house, family
It's getting COLD!

The weekdays were mostly smooth. There is still talk about the move, but things are uncertain due to financial issues. Boiler needs a little fixing. You know that feeling you get when you're really certain that you're doing something right, and some circumstance turns the result around? I am not that good with machines; I was following normal procedure, and then I'm forced to call a plumber.

Munchkin Niece came over for the weekend. Nothing out of the ordinary; she was a good girl. Still, it's quite cute when she begs.

Yesterday, I saw an adorable frog near my dog's area.

I finally found it
After reconnecting an old TV, I jumped back into playing BREATH OF FIRE 3 (ブレス オブ ファイアIII) and resumed my quest for a very rare sword that I have been looking for quite some time. After so long, and thinking it was some kind of myth, I FOUND THE INFAMOUS GKS!.

GAHHHHH! FINALLY! This is the main character's best sword. Still, after all the trouble, I wish it was better. Maybe have a Holy attribute or a "heroic strength" attribute.

But now it's time for the next challenge: Getting "The FISH" in Breath of Fire 3 (like I did in BOF 4). There is also the GooKing Sword in BOF 4 (also, defeating the strongest monster called Rider).

Seiyuu & Romi Paku
IMO! And it's my opinion: The monthly poll for "[livejournal.com profile] seiyuu of the week", or the selection of names, is quite narrow. Next time, I may vote for Koyama Mami and Namikawa Daisuke the next time.

Speaking of seiyuu, Romi Paku received vocal surgery and can't talk for a while. Needless to say I'm worried, but I occasionally hear/read about her surgery's result on Twitter. I just want to hug her sometimes.

Ohara Sayaka also had surgery. If this is common among voice actors, shouldn't I hear about it more? Not surgery, but voice damage (or just physical difficulty during the performance). At one point, Koyasu Takehito suffered hypernea.

Something on Petter Cullen too for The Predator.

I finally DID it
I returned to MARIO KART WII! yesterday after a long while (maybe two months). This time I drove with the Nunchuk, and it provided me some of those amazing steering and wheelie that I have ever witnessed so far. I managed to pass through RAINBOW ROAD (including bank that I'm quite afraid of and fall off 90% of the time). I've beaten 150cc SPECIAL CUP and unlocked Mirror Mode and Daisy.

The C-stick, of course, provides a LOT OF CONTROL compared to the Wii Wheel (I usually use that). Still, when I beat 150cc, I used automatic shift rather than manual as a test. I need to practice the nunchakus more.

Continuing 30 Days of Seiyuu meme.

Day 13: The seiyuu you’d pick to play you

One time I was told that I sounded like Mona Marshall, and I used to voice kids/little animals and evil ladies when I used to do fandubbing.

So, the Japanese Equivalent of Mona Marshall would be...paku romi (朴路美)

That'd be awesome. Cause then I can be sexy, I can play a shrimp, I can be a warrior/swordsman, fight shikenrangers, and maybe be in a robot...

Not too sure if I want the fangirls.

And we both love dogs!

So I need to post down two days of this seiyuu meme.

Also, I finished the MS IGLOO series, both 1 and 2. Part 2? The Gravity Front (重力戦線)? I need flowers, teddy bears, and puppies. I keep watching negative stuff. So I'll talk about GUNDAM another day, both IGLOO and Zeta (like 0079).

And it's still not explained as to what IGLOO MIGHT possibly mean.

Also, KR Fourze ends THIS weekend, and Kamen Rider Wizard (Sept 2) will air next week. I am not ready; was crying from the LAST episode!

Why do I watch negative stuff?!

Contiuning 30 Days of Seiyuu meme

Day 03:Your favourite female seiyuu

ksensei

It's-a-me! K-sensei! Katsuki Masako (勝生真沙子)!. There is also Romi Paku and Ikue Otani!. Romi Paku loves dogs!

My female favorites are less compared to the males, but I still have trouble picking favorites. Like I said before, in animated shows, the youths prevail. So, that means I am often exposed to these high-pitched or maybe husky-voiced girls.

When you're popular, you get more chances to get onto these shows, AND more chances to be flexible and take up different roles. That's what it looks like to me anyway; I don't watch a lot of the recent stuff. However, when you become a veteran voice actor, your pay grade goes up.

Maybe I'm just selfish and want to see the old generation continue to entertain us like they did during their prime, and not feel left behind. Somehow, being veterans, Seki Tomokazu and Midorikawa Hikaru still receive notable roles.

I DIGRESS! SORRY! I COMPLAINED!

So...Katsuki-sensei. I pick her as a favorite because she underrated and I wanted to know more about her. So, I became more dedicated to her career. LOTS of people like Romi Paku (because Good grief, the Hitsugaya Toshiro and Edward Elric fans) and Takeuchi Junko, but couldn't find the same fervor with Katsuki Masako.

Everybody likes Nana Mizuki, Sawashiro Miyuki, Hirano Aya, Toyosaki Aki, Hayashibara Megumi (so do I), Tamura Yukari, Hanazawa Kana, Saiga Mitsuki (so do I), Noto Mamiko (so do I), etc.

K has a bit of everything. MORE INFO HERE. Got the huskiness, got the sexiness and cuteness, got the calmness, the passion. Actually, it was her passion that got me attracted to her in the first place. She fits a strong character quite well, and even the opposite. Her father was in the Self-Defense Force? Is it related? (lol)

And the actual person? Quite a klutz, and also shy; can have a lack of self-confidence as well. Also, a gamer. My tag for Katsuki has the most entries so anyone can click on that and see what I posted about her.

As for Otani Ikue. She often plays the little kids and animals (or the grannies), and it's just so..damned adorable. She also appeared in Animania 2011 in Sydney. Here's a VOICE SAMPLE: enter Otani LINE!

One more thing, if you like a scary Inoue Kikuko, go watch IGLOO 2.

Gundam Seed Destiny Battle Assault. Katsuki voices Rondo Sahaku Mina. Err, the name is probably wrong. Not sure if Mina will appear again, but her brother does (voiced by Tobita Nobuo).

Sailor Neptune. OMG, I just love..the violin music. Just fires me up.

Hello Monday.

On MAL, even though I was hesitant, I typed up my view on GUNDAM AGE after reading some discussions on the forums. I asked myself, "what do I really think of the show??" Despite having difficulty in expressing myself, and little confidence, I went along with the review. I don't do reviews because explaining my jumbled thoughts in words often lead me to embarrassment. It was even tougher to attempt making a review spoiler-free when I'm caught up. And are my thoughts truly real?

For now, I would give it a 6 out of 10. So that's kind of like a 3 out of 5. In letters, that'd be like a C. To me, it's an average show. I don't think it wows me, nor does it give me a lot of emotions. A few, but not a lot.

The main point of AGE is: "A story than spans 3 generations for 100 years." (100年に渡る3世代の物語)

So, what do you think?

More on AGE, spoiler free )

I know one thing, I think it's really lame how they use the veteran voice overs. I swear Yamaguchi Kappei was in the show for like ... 10 seconds. And I think Saiga Mitsuki was a random kid for one or two episodes. Romi Paku...then there Yusa Koji, Sakaguchi Daisuke (where IS MAX?!?!), etc. Also, Itoh Kentarou! WASTED! Morita Masakazu is in it too but not much. So is Madono Mitsuaki but he seems cool.

VID PICK!
doggiedynasty: Doggie's crescent moon (Default)
I am so tired...

I was so frustrated for like the past day or two that today, I forgot that I could put the baby niece in her high chair. In other words, babysitting is starting to lose its fun factor. Am I also forgetting how important it is?

GAMING
So there's this upcoming game called PROJECT X ZONE, where characters from Capcom, Sega, and Namco Bandai are gonna duke it out. Apparently it's so interesting that I can use FOUR of my Japanese voice actor tags! Oh yes:

- Yuki Akira of Virtual FIGHTER (MikiShin)
- Donovan of Darkstalkers (Hiyama Nobuyuki) (EDIT: DEMETRI!)
- TOUMA of Shining Feather EXA! (Romi Paku)
- Soma of God Eater (Kazuya Nakai)

And personally, they have my favorite voice samples. TOuma you'd have to be careful, especialyl if you have earphones. Out of all the Darkstalkers (Vampire Hunter) characters they could've picked, they had to choose Donovan (EDIT: DEMETRI!)? Hiyama's going to get involved somehow I guess. I have yet to see the return of Jon Talbain!. But! Oh-so-sexy voice is used for Donovan. In addition, Hiyama is also in Kamen Rider FOURZE as both Tachibana and the Narrator.

Akira Yuki seems to be Miki's signature game character...in my opinion? o-O; 10 years ahead! (10年早いんだよ)

I never played EXA but I have been aware of Paku's character. I'm surprised that Touma was even picked (heck, there's Valkyria chronicles?). He is a wild fellow.

Yuri Lowell of Tales of Vesperia is going to appear too. Also, the Megaman X series!

EDIT: The vampire character is Demetri. Donovan is another DS character.

Lack of sleep today.

Finally, caught up on HELLSING (and Fourze). Not sure what I was thinking; lots of insanity and fun. While Wakamoto is quite fun, never imagined Anderson sounding like a bird at times (lol).

And who gave Hirano the idea to make spiral eyes?

There's Quick spoilers. Highlight )

That reminds me, I need to get back to Hellsing: the Dawn

Hoh boy.

While I OBVIOUSLY think it could use some additions, like Furuya Toru and Furukawa Toshio (who are often associated with Tanaka Mayumi and Nozawa Masako), I think this is a nice list. I admire the energy and personality of Toshio, Kappei, and Tanaka.

I'm glad Hirata (surprise!) and Kappei are on there as well. Ogata Kenichi (who I call "Uncle Ogata" ;) ) is on there too, and many others. And even Sugiyama Kazuko!

Yamadera Kouichi seems to be No.1 everywhere.

...It's just that I'm surprised by the comments on MyAnimeList (MAL). Animenewsnetwork (ANN) isn't so bad, but MAL is awful.

The comments on there can get pretty disrespectful, and it shows the shallowness of some people if that's the right word. It's true that veterans get hired less (I'm still surprised that Hirata got to play the main character of TIger & Bunny, KOTARO!), but I think it's further worse to say something along the lines of "old people?" (along the super worshiping of Wakamoto Norio).

It's surprising enough to see avid anime fans or so it looks like saying, "I don't know most of the people on the list"...

I WAS fine with that, but some behave like as if those who are ranked high are insignificant because of their low frequency in CURRENT anime, radio, etc.

It is pretty funny though, seeing people getting worked up.

ANN's problem is the lack of Romi Paku. ;P

This was very frustrating because half of these ladies are in stuff I haven't watched or only seen in 1-3 roles, or just mostly music/radio idols. Just don't pay attention to them. I check wiki and much of their info is about their units or music.

But I managed to finish.

I did not realize how ominous my cresent moon looks.

Happy Memorial Day, annnnnd my feet hurt. I was cleaning so much and I'm still not done, and there was quite a bit of rain too. I think I'm gonna sleep soon, then resume cleaning in the morning.

For MD, I'm gonna show this link: http://www.ourmilitary.mil/index.aspx
Lots of nice things, including Hero Stories.

Just something funny
Hahaha, it can't be helped now that Summer is around the corner. LAst night I dreamt about either Six Flags or Cedar Point. Everything else is in a haze, but I think I was about to go on a roller coaster or some other super thrill ride. There might've been some talk, like, "Hey man are we really going to this?"

Here's a new link, the Roller Coaster Database: http://rcdb.com/

BLEACH comic
I was way way far back, like to the Nnitora fight, but I am definately catching up. Chapter 400! I should be caught up completely tommorow maybe. I'm a little surprised as a couple of the "queasy" scenes Kubo Tite has drawn.

They never show that stuff on the TV show.

Speaking of TV Show, that reminds me. I think in a blog entry long ago I mentioned that Megumi Ogata had a character on BLEACH. Now that I read the comic further, I now understand. I thought she played some kind of minor minion but it turned out that her character Harribel was one of the tough Espada (10 swords)! Furthermore, she fought Hitsugaya, who is voiced by Paku Romi. Hahaha.

  • Romi Paku
  • Seki Tomokazu
  • Nakao Ryuusei
So I don't have to repeat myself, I'll mention now that all three are actors/seiyuu (voice) from Japan. Last name first.

I also provide short videos!

On to Part II )

Okay, time for a good entry. "Do I think animals have a sense of humor?" Yeah in some cute way. Many animals, studies find, are pretty social. Got different patterns, they play, etc. Don't your pet dog or cat tease you? I have plenty of funny memories with my two dogs. ;)

Arcades never die
I forgot to mention that I went to an entertainment center, which name I forgot, about a month ago? I never want arcades to die. Playing INITIAL D (or NEED for SPEED?), Silent Scope, DDR, some jump rope like game, Guitar Hero, etc.

I am very terrible with fighting games on the arcade. Tekken = impossible.

I played Guitar Hero a few times, and if I recall the tracks:
- SLOW RIDE
- BARRICUDA
- PAINT IT BLACK

It was actually fun but boy do you need some arm and shoulder strength to play that guitar. I was enjoying the finger coordination. And it has five buttons? I thought there were 3? Was there an older version?

GO-KARTING! GO-KARTING!

About Go-karting, I know kids drive, but it is starting to feel dangerous when you merge suddenly especially during a turn. Has there been many go-kart accidents?

From [livejournal.com profile] xlumierex. I don't think I ever did one of these.

Choose 5 seiyuu before answering the questions that follow.

Do NOT look at the questions beforehand, if only because that spoils the surprise of things. There may be questions that, depending on which seiyuu you chose, you will not be able to answer -- if that is the case, please elaborate why.

COOL NEWS
Hear about the Old guy who beat on the knife-wielder that broke into his house? OH YEAH!

(June 30) - When a knife-wielding man broke into his home, Frank Corti was scared. But that didn’t stop the 72-year-old retired boxer from beating up the intruder and holding him till police came.

In his police mug shot, 23-year-old Gregory McCalium sports a black eye and a bloodied lip, courtesy of a man old enough to be his grandfather.

McCalium was sentenced Tuesday to 4 ½ years in prison for the attack last Aug. 19 on the Corti home near Oxford, England, the Oxford Mail reported.
The judge told him he "got what you deserved."

McCalium was a neighbor of Corti and his wife, Margaret, in the town of Botley and there had been an ongoing dispute over noise levels in the area, police said

For my website (at asphost), I'm working on a shrine for seiyuu/voice overs. The problem is that I don't know where to start. Man, there is just too many seiyuu...TOOOOO MANY!

Usually I'd like someone after listening to at least two roles, especially they are are adorable roles.

What I have in mind? )

SOOOOOO, who should I list? I have too many on my mind: Tomazaku Seki, Miki Shinichiro, M. Shoutarou, Nowaza Masako, Paku Romi, Takeuechi Junko, Ryuusei Nakao, etc.

I heard a crapload of Katsuki Masako roles, so she's definately getting listed

I'm definately listing some english favorites like Freeman and Mcgylnn.

Also honorable mentions? Recommended roles/shows?

I'd like to look out for some fresh voice over/seiyuu as well. Because I seem to be more absorbed by the veterans or semi-veterans. Not to mention it's sometimes difficult to get non-dubbed anime, and when I do I see a wonderful cast.

MY NEW Favorite seiyuu: Kazuya Nakai!
