Royal Wedding
Britian's Prince William was married to Catherine Middleton in April 2011. Caught wide TV attention. I was on the road, so missed most of it when it aired, so I listened to some of it on the radio.

Reading BACCANO + TV
I can't remember. I may have finished reading "The Rolling Bootlegs" in either 2010 or the the beginning of 2011. I expressed my opinions on it in an entry tagged "BACCANO". It should be simple to find. Also, I think last year, I read and finished Gundam Sentinel? Back to the subject, BACCANO was fun. I realized that crime organizations, reading about them anyways, appeal to me. Mostly their history; why was there so much trouble in the early 1900s, the wars, why did they perform such actions for business, etc. See what power does to you? In BACCANO, the Martillo seemed pretty nice though. Gandors and Genoards...not much so.

I can't remember what channel it was, maybe the "Biography Channel", but I watched like a single episode of a documentary about girls with gangsters. Was it called "My husband's a mobster"? I can't remember, but it had an AWFUL narrator IMO.

Hakuouki
I didn't pay attention to it at first, but after some coaxing from deathlike, tokio_fujita's journal material, and some of the games' beautiful art, I guess I looked into it more. Wish I could play one of the games. First game is coming to America in February but I don't have a DS. Since I can't get into the games, I watched and completed the TV series. "Fangirls be crazy" (especially during season 2).

Sonic's Birthday
Last year, Sonic celebrated its 20th birthday! I talk about Sonic's influence in entries titled "Sonic Memories". So far, I only talked about the 2-D games. After the Sega Genesis/Megadrive games were discontinued, my Sonic gaming would die down a bit. When I got the Gamecube (mid or late 2000s?), I had a chance to play Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes, and Riders. I'll try to talk about that too.

MOTHER 3
Since I heard so much about it, I tried out MOTHER 3. Crazy and cute. And I cried from a game after a long time. My thoughts are here.

Twitter
I thought I joined in 2011, but it turned out I joined Nov 2010. I've been getting addicted. I tweet about aimless things and it's even worse if I am watching something. And I can't get through a day without seeing Justin Beiber, Selena Gomez, Jonas, One Direction, can I? Worldwide trends? o-O WHO is on twitter?

To my shock, after complaining about it a few times (lol), K-sensei registered to Twitter. She is also a gamer, which is also a real shocker, and purchased the latest Monster Hunter for 3DS. She recently met Lagiacrus and got scared (lol). "I don't want to see him ;_;".

In general, I think this tv trope suit her the most: Adorkable. Maybe Butt Monkey too? Is that the right one? When it comes to technology and gaming Smartphone and dragon's butt monkey. You just wanna..TEASE HER! and I do try sometimes. "What do I doooo?!" She's pretty polite, seems to love socializing.

You know? It's really interesting to see how similar people are to yourself. Seriously, wow, K-sensei!

Kim Jong-il (and TruTv)
The former leader of North Korea, Kim Jon-Il, has passed away and there's trouble about succession. But I can't help but mention this funny thing from Twitter. I've been watching TruTv lately, and there's a twitter account for the show "Worlds Dumbest" that twit articles about people doing dumb so. SO, when Jong-Il died, WD tweets that people THOUGHT that rapper "Lil' Kim" died. So I replied, "He kinda does have a rapper's name".

Anyways, hello Sunday. Usually, I'm not here but I'm watching over mother so she won't have problems. She's doing better, but she may have to stay home for a few more days. Least she smiled. =D

So I had a weird thought.

Random: COSPLAY
I was just web-surfing, and saw "cosplay", wondering which character I'd best portray. I really don't know who it'd be. At the moment, I don't think I fit cosplaying at all, not sure if I ever want to try. Seems weird; I think I grew out of wearing costumes?

I could probably fit a Pokemon Trainer (red) or a CoolTrainer. A simple two piece costume of jacket and trousers. Hmm, I think Firo Prochanezo would be pretty cool. Again, he wears a simple attire (gotta love green, AND the hat). I'd have to do something with my hair and glasses though, lol.


Future Grand Prix (GPX) CYBER FORMULA
Not watching the OVAs yet, but I have quite a bit to get through. There's 11 ("Double-One"), Zero, Saga and SIN. Cyber Formula TV series had 37 episodes. Apparently, it was canceled; that's a shame. Why did that happen? Did it have to do with the production of the gundam and Braves series?

It was a good show, at least for someone like me who likes cars and racing. The plot is that CF racing has replaced F-1 racing in the future. The racers use these cars installed with AI guidance systems called "Cyber Systems" (CS) and boosters that can make the vehicles travel up to 400 km/h. Some of them have hydrogen engines. Originally a motorcyclist, fourteen-year-old Kazami Hayato became the driver of the Asurada GSX (reminds me more of a Group B car than a single-seater Formula car) when he had to transfer it to Team Sugo while in pursuit of an organization. Because Asurada registered him as the official driver and the data couldn't be erased, Hayato entered the time trials for the 10th Grand Prix. Asurada is considered to be the most neuro-intelligent CS.

If there's a trigger/switch-like gear shift in real cars, I like to find out. I think it's awesome ;) And I don't mean a handlebar behind the wheel.

Asurada has the H-type manual transmission gearbox.

What I do like about this show, is not only Asurada the car, but Hayato' development as a driver AND the race tracks. Hayato had trouble with G-Forces, Asurada had to tell him about his sloppy driving and braking, etc. I also like the other cars as well such as Superion (Shinjyo's car). Hi, Midorin! (lol)

Randoll annoyed me in his driving. Is he THAT perfect? But, loved the tension between him and Hayato.

The tracks are interesting, and dangerous. Virtually all of them are like rally-like (ie: point-to-point) and out of the circuit. Like what the narrator says, it really tests the limits of the driver: mountains, ice, rainy days, waves, etc. The mountain tracks...it really bothered me when I saw the a lot of the drivers, cept maybe Otomo, driving smoothly in the mountain tracks with little to no problem. Hayato's difficulties, being a green racer, was obvious. At least, Otomo's car looks like it can handle off-road.

Another thing that bothered me sometimes was Asurada's lucky maneuvers (ie: flying between two cars, bouncing off stuff).

Like I said before, animation/art isn't that great. I swear Hayato had like Captain Tsubasa hair in one episode, lol.

Hello Livejournal, I'm back.

And Happy Friday. Week's been a little rough; dad was hospitalized again a few days ago and may get out tomorrow nurses thought his bald head's cute xD. I'll leave out the details since it was pretty scary. And, I think my coughing has returned. Ugh! It doesn't seem to bother me too bad until later in the evening.

And I purchased MILO, popular drink in Australia and the Caribbean. I hope it's good.

Isn't NicoDOuga So much fun? I like watching videos like these. The BACCANO English dub is apparently well-received because it gives off the old-fashioned American Gangster/Crime film atmosphere it gives off like you're watching. Got the suits, got the gangs, got the accents, etc. Never watched the series since I was interested in the books. And I'm not sure which eps cover the Rolling Bootlegs.

It was fun to read the video comments. Basically:

- Dub Firo (Todd Hakerborn): Japan seems to like this voice the most, saying it's "good" (いいね) and "cute" (かわいいいい). I don't like Todd's voice that much IN GENERAL, but I think he's tolerant as Firo.

- English and Japanese Ladd: Entertainment Hiroshi! Fujiwara Keiji (often called "Hiroshi". Now I'm calling him that now. Damn you NICODOUGA! ><)'s Ladd had too much of a impression that the English Ladd isn't liked. Well understandable. It seems less handsome compared to Keiji's, and Keiji is just very good. I guess I just like english Ladd's accent. If it was another person, or someone from a movie, it'd be better.

- Dub Maiza and Dub Issac: Dub Issac is a problem. Issac and Miria are lovely characters and are so enthusiastic. I think the video comments easily express how are felt: Issac's voice is astringent (渋い) . At first I thought the English V.O was just doing a cowboy voice because Issac was wearing a cowboy outfit, but it seems to be the actual voice. There is a lack of enthusiasm that I've seen from the "Rolling Booklegs" book. I knew Masaya Onosaka could do it! ><

Maiza...he felt like a big brother in the novel. So when I heard Mitsuru_Miyamoto's voice, I thought it was beautiful and perfect. You can tell why Firo respects him with Miyamoto's voice. The English voice is not soothing and doesn't seem to have a close-to-similar voice. I should look into it more.

- CHICK: Chick is Kappei Yamaguchi! I never seen the character before. One comment fits Dub Chick perfectly IMO: "a perverted voice" (or so I think that's what it says). I can't get over Kappei's cuteness. English Chick sounded terrible to me. Reminded me of...The Three Stooges?

NABARI NO OU = Gundam
So what does this mean? Basically, "Confusion".

Gundam = science fiction = quick pace = trouble understanding

I am reading the comic Nabari no Ou (Ruler of Nabari), which is about a boy name Miharu Rokujou who has a powerful forbidden ninja art inside of his body.

This is...hard to explain. I wonder if it's just me; while reading this comic, I seem to have trouble following what's going on and comprehending what the characters are saying. It must be the translations. I also seem to get bored while reading it and there are few appealing moments. Things seem to move fast too.

I do kinda like the fighting. It's not like with super powers such as high speed, turning invisible, or duplicating the body, but seems really more "ninja like" as the characters use distractions, body arts, and small sharp objects (ie: pencils).

I like the game DDR and its music. Randomly one day, I was wondering what my favorite tracks might be. I never thought about it because there are so many songs.

Butterfly, Dead Zone, Drop Out, Cowgirl, I do I do I do, Cowgirl, Long Train Runnin, Butterfly, Wookie Wookie, Waka Laka, Cartoon Heroes, LOVE LOVE SHINE, Tsugaru, Paranoia and Afronova have various versions (HOW MANY!), Love is Orange, Fly Away, Candy, Exotic Ethnic, The Whistle Song (Suggestive themes...lol), 321 Stars, etc. Those are good to me.
