Long time. Plenty of new stuff added, especially in completed shows. Trying to decide whether I want to add a "TV/Live" topic, or just add "Gotham" to Tokusatsu and change that topic to "Tokusatsu/Live"

Day 21: The seiyuu with the most acting range

Ishida!

This is a lovely one. That reminds me, yesterday, I watched Blockbuster Buster's Top 10 Voice Over Actors video I'm quite happy about his choices, but I'm a little puzzled about him saying "actors that get by using one voice or variations of their voice." What is the latter supposed to entail? Like, dialects?

Which also reminds me on how people complain about an actor "who only has 2 or 3 voices". Insulting.

Anyways, here are my choices.

Tobita Nobuo (飛田展男), Matsumoto Yasunori (松本保典), Ueda Yuji (うえだゆうじ), ISHIDA AKIRA (石田彰), and Yamadera Kouichi (山寺宏一).

Yama-chan, AKA Yama Kouichi, is like a seiyuu icon. He's even in Disney movies (for some reason. maybe because he's an actor) while the cast, like in English, are adopted by celebrities. So, he gets these chances to play iconic characters in Disney (including in Kingdom Hearts game series) like Genie from Aladin, DONALD DUCK and The Beast. Furthermore, he dubs various popular actors. His Donald Duck is fantastic. I don't think I hear any flaw.

Well, the flaw is, sometimes you don't understand what Donald says anyway ;)

I talked about Ueda plenty. He even "voices" a ton of pokemon (with Miki Shinichirou). Along with the singing voice, quite a package.

Whew, I really wanted to mention Ishida SOMETIME in this meme. Child? Yup. Woman? Yup! Adult, yup. Older? Yep. Animal, yep! Sexy, mean, kind, etc. Tobita has wide-range as well! Also...NicoDouga has turned him into a meme. His fans had made some craaaazy videos on him. Really, who came up with the Perverted Kamille idea? *Rubs forehead*

I can probably add Sakurai Takehiro too. I will also say Seki Tomokazu (関智一). I talked about Seki Tomo's roles under 'birthday" tag somewhere.

For the girls, Hayashibara Megumi. Maybe she's like Yamadera cause she's an icon. Geezus. IMO, she inclines towards adults, animals, KIDS (girls and boys).

Some of these are difficult to imagine, especially if they're being pigeon-holed. Gonna have to personally explore their careers yourself, unless they can change their roles in such short time. Especially for recent works.

If anyone have any opinions/suggestions, enlighten me.

Day 19: The first seiyuu you remember liking

Wow, I like this question. I can't pinpoint, but I often said that Nobuyuki Hiyama and Matsumoto Yasunori were a couple of my first favorites. Also, Furukawa Toshio.

Day 14: Your favorite role from your favorite male seiyuu

Geez, and I listed a ton of male seiyuu didn't I? Just because I couldn't decide. Should I answer them all?

Quite difficult because many of the favorites are quite influential in the voice entertainment world. Alright alright...one at a time.

Ueda Yuji (うえだゆうじ): Sagara Sanosuke leaves a big impression. It's such a cool voice! The two english versions could not make Sano sound so much of a tough jerk. Lex Lang was more like 'handsome cool jerk"; Ueda was "Bitch I'll kill you O-rah!" jerk. Because he was a gangster-type character who was a fighter-for-hire and trained his body, he had that funky talking. So he says "rah" a lot. Also, Futae No Kiwami videos all over the net ^-^;;

Furukawa Toshio (古川登志夫): I first met him via Piccolo (Dragonball), and so he is my favorite. Where else are you going to find a cool green guy? It's strange that Ma Junior turned into a strong, mentor figure for Gohan. Throughout the movies. Also, Toshio explained (forget which EXPO) he had strange ways to doing battle cries. So, Piccolo
And I like, "MAKANKOSAPPOOOOO!" Took me a while to figure out, but it's one of my favorite moves in the Dragonball series.

Hiyama Nobuyuki (檜山修之): It's probably be Kouta and Kogoro HAD I exposed myself to Highschool of the Dead and Sgt. Keroro a bit more (and they LOOK LIKE HIM!). ;-; Hiei's one of my favorite Yuyu Hakusho characters, but I think Hiyama really shines as Shishioh Guy in GAOGAIGAR FINAL. It's just that, there's many characters like Guy...and I can't pinpoint a favorite. Everybody likes Ikkaku.

Nakai Kazuya (中井和哉): I haven't watch Gintama or ONE PIECE fully; Toshiro and Zoro are equally damned fun. Second thought, Gintama is so strange and funny, and Toshiro (Parody of Hijikata Toshizo)....and he likes mayonaise. Also, Data Masamune. I CAN'T PICK! I CAN'T PICK! Geehhh...Let's go with Gintama's Toshizo. He has a bit of everything. And he was before Date ^-^;

Furuya Toru (古谷徹): No idea. I can't pick one.

Matsumoto Yasunori (松本保典): Introduced to him by Gourry Gabriev(SLAYERS series).

Seki Tomokazu (関智一): Can't pick. He and Furuya have the "hero syndrome", so they're both all over the place playing righteous heroes, idiots, etc. I can't even remember where I first seen him.

I thought it wasa good idea, but I thought to myself, "why would someone as indecisive as me try something like this?" I'm only fearing that I can't give out a single one-person answer for each question.

At least I can have something to blog about briefly each day.

Since it says Seiyuu, I guess I have to choose the Japanese voice actors only.

Let's start:

Day 01: Your favourite male seiyuu

Hmm, I could never specifically point to one person as a favorite male seiyuu.

On this blog, I often talk about Ueda Yuji (うえだゆうじ), Furukawa Toshio (古川登志夫), Hiyama Nobuyuki (檜山修之), Nakai Kazuya (中井和哉) and Furuya Toru (古谷徹), Furukawa being one of my first favorites. ALso, Matsumoto Yasunori (松本保典).

Furukawa Toshio is a big time veteran, but also dedicated figure collector, fisher, dog owner, geek, etc. Placed in anime history as ACE IN ONE PIECE, Shin in Fist of North Star, PICCOLO in DRAGONBALL, and others. I'm actually..still surprised that he was Ace, and voiced many suparobo heroes. When it comes to suparobo heroes in the 70s and 80s, I usually think Furukawa Toshio, Inoue Kazuhiko, Kamiya Akira and Ishimaru Hiroya.

I give Furuya points for not only being cool, but for also having a good attachment to fans. He has an interesting character (as in person). He's also dedicated to his characters, who are often heroes. If you want a bad guy Furuya, then he makes a big hit as Ribbons Almark in Gundam 00. I think

hanagoke is a waaaay bigger Furuya fan, but I have to thank her. Ribbons..Halmark?

I don't know where to start with Ueda Yuji. Check my tag? I think my first recognized character from him was blanka (Street Fighter), Sanosuke Sagara, Akito, or Takeshi. Who knows? I might need to scratch Blanka, because Ueda's in a lot of fighting games such as Darkstalkers (Lord Raptor I think?) and Guilty Gear.

Not sure where to start with Nakai Kazuya either...

Hiyama, to my surprise, is prevalent in video games and I guess "radical screaming characters". And so is Kappei Yamaguchi (山口勝平), who plays a lot of little boys and heroes in both games and animation. There are also seiyuu I liked when I first started listening to VAs from Japan. When Hiyama (and even Nakao Ryuusei) emerged in BLEACH, I thought, "...do I...know them?" I still tell myself if Hiyama is alright after all his screaming because it gets exploited a lot ^.^: I was also surprised by Guh Shishioh. Gonna miss him in Fourze; which reminds me, he voices a lot of characters in Tokusatsu shows.

Seki Tomokazu (関智一)! Too much to say...

I'm...tired. I wanted to post/explain more but I'm tired.

COMMENT: I finished the TV and on the OVA series. I finished Double One (11) and now on Zero ~~Realm~~. The cars and animation are drawn better, so there is some more intensity. However, since Kazami is more of a seasoned racer and struggles less, he uses less strategy. Also, it's like the same passing and drifting scenes are used. Why are the racers so darn surprised when they're passed?! Also, the boost art is slightly "brighter".

COMMENT: I'm slow with this, only because of the other shows. Seki Toshihiko! ;) Anyways, the art sucks ^^: I kinda like the story idea. And I want to see when Renge's stubbornness will break. I saw Yasunori!

Hahaha, alright Ark I will update. I had thought about it yesterday but was busy doing other things. I like the funny looking dog in my "annoyed" icon and I'm picking it because this entry will not be entirely positive. It should be positive because I don't like complaining, but I'm not that happy. I was watching The Price is Right while typing this.

Recent Video Highlights/Doggie's spirit
Basically: Motor sports and the talented Robert Axelrod with his haircut. Axelrod, excellent guy. I enjoy hearing his stories about when he auditioned for Lord Zedd, when he started acting and voice acting, what was live acting like and makeup on Star Trek (lol), etc. Seems like a nice guy. And yes, he does look a bit like Paul McCartney. Hearing Axelrod talking kind of makes me remember why I used to enjoy acting and what I thought about it.

Staying on that, I also remember hearing someone say "you really learn quick or get into something that you love " or along those lines, and I think it's very true. With that in mind, I wish I could be more lucky when getting jobs. Maybe that's why I'm so frustrated because I don't exactly like sitting at an office, but I am strongest in analyzing and typing.

Looking forward to it
I'm going to keep my eye out on NARUTO: Shippuden (spoilers) because of Katsuki. Things are going to get interesting and I wonder how things will turn out animated and acted. In particular...

Current social problems, mostly in typing:

Too much problems explaining myself, especially when frustrated
Redundant
I seem to can't ask a simple question or at times can't formulate one understandable sentence.

I seemed to have made this reputation online of being a really airheaded kid. I know I have my moments, but it's bothering me more than I thought.

Maplestory: Current Status
My frustration in Maplestory is starting to rekindle. How long does Nexon expect us to play in a single day and how long do they expect us to hunt monsters for rare items? Maybe I'm not the right player but I can't play well for three hours or more, especially not in the same area. I'm in a situation where in order to clear a few slots from my inventory, I have to complete this quest by getting three diamonds. I got one diamond, but it takes a long time to create them because you have to find diamond ore pieces. Ten ores are required to make a full diamond so I need twenty. Those ores along probably has a 3% drop rate, they are very hard to get. Maybe that's wrong but the ores are taking long. The ores I got for the first diamond are what I collected from my months and months of hunting. I really want to make it to White Knight and Paladin class.

I think some players avoid doing solo quests and just mostly do Party Quests and Hunt monsters to level up (using double EXP??). The latter takes way too long, at least to me.

And the Cash Shop seems greedy. Most things, each cost around a 5 - 15k range in NX money ($5-20 in U.S. I will have to look again). Few items cost under 1700. I also heard that the Dragon Master Evan (Hero) class takes some money to advance or attain skills. I am lucky to even get a Gachapon ticket

About Nico Nico Douga
A minor annoyance: Seeing insulting or stupid comments IN ENGLISH while watching the videos. Like "faggot", "U SUCK" (like in game videos), "SHUTUP", or something pertaining to the video. I am surprised to not see German and Spanish more considering they have a translated Nico site. I also would see Korean. What is supposed to fit?

BANGZOOM and Fan-Sub. Room Re-construction?
Bang Zoom is deteriorating or going out of business? I will have to check the article again as I have only saw it once brieftly a few days ago.

This makes me remember why I'm not into watching FAN-SUBBING that much. First I don't know what to look for when it comes to titles and what I want to keep, it is difficult to attain in my area, and I can't say that I fully trust online shipping. Maybe I'm not that ambitious about television or animation. I'm not watching much now. Past and present, I notice I never buy long TV Series. I mostly have movies. Two or three episodes would show on a tape, so maybe I should be thankful for DVD where you can see a bit more episodes per disc (?) or you buy the complete set.

I DIDN'T WATCH GUNDAM UNICORN YET! Maybe today or tommorow. I had trouble with getting it to work.

I am three episodes into it.

I've been watching to watch the uncut version for a long time but I've been too lazy, and I spoiled myself a little on a climatic fight. Morikawa as D-Boy is quite fun to listen to. "Fuoooaah!" There is also a few favorites of mine on there such as Megumi Hayashibara as Aki (Star) and Yasunori Matsumoto as Noal (Ringo). Ahhh, I feel like I'm in the 90s Boom again. It'll be a little while before I see the cool "red baddie", but I'll get there. Looking forward to him.

The dubbed version...they changed so much, including the names and it's annoying. Saban's a nice guy, but I wish it was dubbed in english better. An English voice of D-boyBlade seemed attractive enough.

Boredom. It’s September 5, 2006.

I’m currently reading a book. What was I going to talk about? Well I’m still a bit stumped about full-time careers after all this time.

~~Time goes by quickly~~

So I thought about some things like novelist, psychotherapy, something in law or criminal justice, ambassadorship and radio entertainment. Sure a couple sounds a bit extreme ~~and requires maybe 1/10 of my lifespan to learn it?~~, but the poor me wants to do a ton of things. You know, go around the world and meet new people. If I had a chance I’d try out for NASCAR. XD I kid you not. I wanna drive over 80 MPH and see people cheer me on.

I’m terribly indecisive.

Maybe I want to go on stage perhaps once or twice, and make people laugh.

...mm, hot dogs are good.

Before I talk more about it, I want to bring up a few small things. Not all of it today though:

- Problem with liking seiyuu/anime/comic/tv/CD drama
- Taboos of media
- College Tactics (not to get overworked and still have time to play)

The first subject started with just a random thought – I hate rushing to get episodes.

I also hate that there is so much to see. There’s so much good potential in the shows that people watch that I cannot decide. ~~My VCR’s fugged~~ Like there’s NANA for example? I was watching House (non-anime) earlier. Maybe I’m just lazy. Sometimes I’m not into watching a long series unless I’m there since the beginning (ie: Gargoyles). Anyways, I currently got my sights set on ~~quadruple tree~~ Full Metal Alchemist. I’d like to finish it without being confused. I’d watch episodes on Adult Swim and don’t know what the heck is going on o-O;; (I got spoiled?? =_=; GAH!)

The characters are awesome, names too. Roy Mustang? Jean Havoc? Scar? YEH! And good ol’ Yasunori ~~I remember him the most as Slayers’ Gourry~~ plays Havoc. Mustang is sexy too.

~~and I wanna see Ueda-kun as Kimblee.~~

One problem I have with liking seiyuu is hearing them do narration ~~and overseas drama especially~~ I need the whole experience. I can’t really like someone w/o hearing/seeing more. I just wouldn’t be completely happy.

I’d like to hear someone like Okiayu Ryoutaro, Katsuki Masako, Seki Toshihiko or Nakata Jouji ~~or anyone I see with a senpai/teacher/storyteller/parent-like voice~~ teach me about Japanese history for example. Nakata! Yeeeaaaah. Kind of like here: World War II?

As for the English Vas – I got my mystery documentaries =D; but the names are unfamiliar.

And WTF’s wrong with some of my TV channels?!
