Time for more Mobile Suit Gundam (0079).

A little note.

The old document where I made expanded summaries for episodes 13-15 (Dec) was deleted by accident. Also, I watched them early December so memory's fuzzy. Through these episodes, we learn about The Sides (and their dimensions?), some of them were destroyed during the war between the Feds and Zeon. Side-3 is where the Principality of Zeon is; Side 7 is where Amuro and Fraw is from, and when the Gundam first activated.

Here's episode 13 through 18! My goal today is to get to 25 or 26.

Where we LEFT OFF!

OK! Expect spoilers. Remember! I'm not screening anything.

13: Til again, Mom
Kind of a sad one that almost made Doggie cry because of the end.

White Base takes a break and lands in an area close to where Amuro's mom lives. Amuro goes to meet

her only to find her house occupied by a bunch of Feddie drunk, but an old friend of his mom tells him that she is working at a refugee camp. Meanwhile, Ryu goes on patrol in Core Fighter. Amuro has a tearful reunion with his mom Kamaria Ray at the camp, which is occassionally visited by two Zeon soldiers.

When Amuro goes to rest there, Zeon enters to search after hearing about a fighter (Amuro's) landing in the area. Kamaria tries to defend Amuro, but he shoots one of them while the other runs. Mommy is surprised that Amuro has become so aggressive and Amuro swiftly gets angry at her, running back to his fighter. Heeeeey! Mid-air docking with the gundam modules and the core fighter! That is impressive. Amuro defeats the nearby Zeon forces easily with Gundam. Now that the day ends, Amuro says goodbye to his mom and departs. It's painful on Kamaria that Amuro is a soldier, albeit a potent soldier.

14: Time, be still
An intense episode showing Amuro's guts and how time can be an enemy.

Three Patrol soldiers of Zeon hear of White Base entering their area and they make a plan to defeat the gundam.

Meanwhile, Amuro's want-to-be flame Matilda is back. The White base gets repairs and some supplies, and Matilda explains (to Bright) that the operations of White Base has been so successful that the Feds are really depending on them on data collection. Bright was going to get court-maritialed too; oh no, we don't want that. Amuro is spotted watching and is sent to bed, and Fraw Bow appear to be jealous, Amuro is very clueless of course.

At daybreak, Matilda's Madea (transport ship) entered the Zeon patrol territory. As she is attacked, Amuro deploys in Gundam and lured into the forest. And the big nerve of these Zeon guys, approaching the gundam with air bikes and planting bombs on it! The soldiers shoot a bomb on the shield and destroy it!

The intense part comes when Amuro risks disarming the bombs (while the patrol soldiers watch, impressed). He succeeds! Before the time runs out, the bombs are put in a jeep and dropped off, and another jeep is used to drive away from explosive range and back. The Gundam is safe.

My explanation of the ep doesn't do it justice.

15: Cucuruz Doan's Island
This was an un-aired episode in the gundam english dub.

There is a distress signal on an island and Amuro goes out with Core Fighter to check it out. Turns out two Feddie pilots are there (one dies), as are kids and a Zaku pilot! The Zaku beats Amuro and he is taken into the pilot's home. The pilot's name is Doan, and he hid the Core Fighter. We learn that Doan was a former Zeon pilot and had killed the family of the kids he lives with (he had a dream about it earlier). Since Doan abandoned Zeon, Zaku attacks the island and Amuro, after finding the Core fighter fends off the invader with Doan. After that, Amuro throws Doan's Zaku into the sea.

16: Sayla Sorties
HQ still cannot be contacted so WB crosses Central Asia. The Crew gets pretty tired.

Then, incoming truck! Bright had confirmed that the driver is one of General Revil's men. He talks about something called "Oddessa Day" is in five days (an offensive attack against one of the Kycilia Zabi's subordinates to turn the tides) and WB must go across the Caspain sea by that time. BTW, WB lacks salt for food, which is demoralizing to the soldiers, so they stop by a saltwater lake. HI RAMBA RAL! Anyways, we meet Commander M'quve, creepy dude (Kaneto Shiozawa!?)

Okay, so there's no lake and Ramba's Gallop is approaching. Ramba's GOUF (No Zaku!) and both Acouz and Cozun's Zaku taken on Gundam, Guncannon and Guntank. Except, Saylia is in the Gundam! It's a sad sight!

Amuro is rough on Cozun and he is captured. Sayla is put into confinement for a few days; she asked Cozun about Char, who said that he lost his position after he "failed to protect Garma". She's assured that he's her brother and is happy that he is alive. Hmm?

Yay, saltwater lake found!

NEXT, Kai is in a pinch. Amuro deserts?!

17: Amuro deserts
That mid-air docking is just good! It's time to get ready for Odessa. Amuro seems to be doing combat data on the Zaku. Random faucet problem/fanservice. Anyways, Ramba Ral is determined to avenge Garma and promote himself for his associates. Something about Ral and Hamon together is pretty appealing. ;) Ral is a respectful person too.

WB reaches a Zeon base. The PoW Cozun escapes and brieftly contacts Ral about WB's combat units; Sayla is released to intervene too. Haha, Haro tripped him. Back on the battlefield, Amuro deploys in Guntank with Hayato (and not Gundam), Kai and Ryu comes in later with Guncannon and Core Fighter. Cozun uses a flight pack to escape through the airdock. Hey, one guy uses a bazooka to open the locked room leading to the airdock. That was....overkill, but it worked. Cozun is killed as a result. It's a BAZOOKA!

Guncannon is in trouble! But Amuro arrives with gundam to save Kai. Ral retreats and Amuro is scolded for not following military orders. Since disobeying an officer is against regulations, Bright has considered retiring Amuro from the gundam. Amuro overhears and later, he leaves White Base with gundam. Amuro, you can't predict everything with data and computer. Ral's a vet after all.

Next, stubborn Amuro takes on M'quve's mining base alone. An appearance of masked Kycillia!

18: The Red Hot Adzam Leader
Battleship Gwazine departs from the Zeon frontline base Granada on the moon. On there is Kycilia Zabi (Space attack force commander), who will make her appearance since M'Quve is her goon.

Amuro has settled in a settle like a hermit and caught sight of a purple ship, apparently M'Quve's. Fraw departs from WB to look for Amuro. She finds her, but no luck convincing him to return since he's "hurt" and has lack of confidence. Amuro, with Fraw following, approaches the mining base and listens on Kycilia and M'Quve's talk. After Fraw returns to White Base to report, Amuro convinces himself to attack alone since its The Base that General Revil wants to capture.

OK! The kid goes on a rampage and there's some annoying guns there too. Amuro's really in for a challenge when he goes against that purple ship he had seen before: Adzam! The Leader is a weapon that first puts sand on the gundam and then heats it up within a radiation field. But that doesn't stop the Gundam! Amuro beat a Gaw after all. And yay for thrust vectoring! The gundam starts damaging the Adzam with the beam javelin. Things are difficult and Kycillia orders the destruction of the base.

Amuro enters the remains and realizes that this is one out of many bases that he has destroyed much to his dissapointment. Nyah Nyan!

Next, Ral's Suicide Attack! It's HONOR TIME!

Up to 19. I'll will watch really soon. Got to get to 25 or 26.
