OK, this is it.
40: Lalah and Elmeth
Whew, the gundam will be modified somehow, and will be sent to Solomon Tech HQ. The WB ship itself hasn't entered Solomon until now. Bright, Fraw and Mirai talk about how they noticed the changes with Amuro. Anyways, top engineer Dr. Mosk Han is going to apply a magnetic coating to fix the Gundam's response time, but it's only an idea. Meanwhile, Kycilia is reported about Bull's death and that both A Baoa Qu and Granada (the moon) fleet will form the final frontline according to Gihren's plans. Apparently Zeon has a Solar system weapon as well. We learn about Mahal, a closed cylinder colony. It sounds familiar to me...anyways, everyone is evacuating while solar panels are being set around Mahal. Degwin scolds Gihren for his choice on evacuating everyone on a short notice and is not supporting his strategies. Gihren explains that the truly worthy should be allowed to live, and through Zabi family's leadershipZabine..?. That is how he wants to deal with overpopulation. He will command from A Baoa Qu. Gihren is truly an aspiring Adolf Hitler.
Anyways, battle time against Magellan and salamis cruisers. Char sends out Elmeth (Lala) and Kycilla's Gwaran ship is going to join in. Char heads out in Gelgoog. This is Lalah's first real battle; the Rick Doms move behind Lalah and put her in the front, which makes her lose concentration. She regains it when Char moves in; the Dom pilots had put a lot of faith in the Elmeth. Oh, so that "scary background music" I heard a couple eps back could be heard by the Feddie crew? They call it the "La-La" sound.
The next Federation mission is Operation Star One: The Invasion of Zeon's home land. Hell yes! SO, that means Side 3? Lots of ships leave Solomon, except the delayed WB because of the gundam. The Dr. just finished the modifications of the gundam so now it's time to try it out. WB leaves to catch up with the Autonomous corps towards A Baoa Qu; gundam is working but its speed is straining the joints a bit; Char and Lalah meet with Kycilla to support the Granada defense.
WB reaches the Auto corps main force and it's WB team vs Char team. Amuro vs Lalah and Char. It is intense ;) Also new insert music. The gundam is moving around like a fly and is easily handling the Gelgoog. Lalah is loosing concentrating since her newtype brainwaves are bouncing with Amuro's. The two retreat and it's time for the operation.
Next, A kiss and cosmic radiance. I believe the insert song is from Keiko Toda. again~
41: Cosmic Radiance
Degwin always looks so weary. He is interested in peace negotiations, the Sovereign himself has left the Principality in his classy red ship to do that. Of course, Gihren-Hitler doesn't like that. What a classy red ship. The Solar ray system will be at full power in three hours and can only be fired once. So on WB, there's talk about the strength of Newtypes, and Amuro says that everybody on the ship must be Newtypes
for having to last as long as they did during the war. That'd be pretty cool huh? He doesn't find himself better than anyone else because he's a NT. Remember back in the Ramba Ral days? When he was a prick? Amuro really grew up!
Char and Lalah gets ready for battle too. Lalah will take out some ships and then she will lead Char and the rest of the troops against the Gundam. Char puts a lot of faith in Lalah and kisses her. Dawwwwwwwwww~ Kycilia's Gwazine-class ship (Gwaden?) will provide cover fire. WB team launches; it is intense, too much happening. Amuro is attacked by Elmeth's bits and he manages to shoot some of them down. The "quicker responses" from the EM coating doesn't seem to be a problem at all huh?
Lalah shoots the gundam's beam rifle and the gundam attacks the bits with its beam saber. Lalah tells Amuro that she is stopping him from hurting Char. Last ep, she said he was evil for doing so. Amuro is obviously confused, but it's shown that they have some feelings for each other. Why would she say that he has nothing to protect or fight for?! Amuro obviously does Miss Mind reader. The White Base right?! Don't agree with her Amuro! Don't ask what's wrong with fighting for nothing!
As for Lalah's reason, she's fighting for the one who saved her. She asks if they were destined to meet each other, disliking how they must fight. However, Amuro is accepting this destiny well. Wah wah wah....are Sayla, Char and Mirai are newtypes?! Sayla and Mirai I'm actually more surprised about.
Erm, okay, brief interuption. Char enters the fight against Amuro. Sayla enters as well; Char gets Lalah to snap out of it so she can help him against Amuro. Hey hey, Char you're about to kill Sayla! I'd like to mention, twice. It's pretty intense! Amuro manages to take an arm off of the Gelgoog (Char got distracted by Sayla) and before the finishing blow, the Elmeth flies in between the two and takes the gundam's saber into the cockpit.
Last Mental convo with Amuro and Lalah about people are changing and can understand one another. "I can see time." Oh man, Amuro so sounds like he's crying. Keiko Toda's back (T____T) I wanna hug him so bad! Char was angry too.
Okay....
Back at WB/Auto fleet, the only ship remaining in Kycilia's. Thirty minutes until the Solar Ray fires, so that means the Zeon ships must evacuate. The main Feddie fleets will go through A Baou Qu and then enter Zeon. But wait, Degwin is going to meet Revil for peace negotiations. What is going to happen? Meanwhile, Gihren prepares to fire the Solar Ray to destroy one third of the fleet. The target is quote, "Gel Dorva"? Huh?
KABOOM! Amuro warns to "get back" and that people are melting. "THE LIGHT OF HATRED". Creepy way to end an ep.
Next, A BAOA QU.
I wanna add something. Char and Amuro went back to their motherships like nothing happened! I'm streaming my eyes out and Amuro is smiling?! You little!
42: Space Fortress A Baoa Qu
So I took a tiny break after sobbing.
There are three fleet "lines" heading towards Baoa Qu and I guess the one Gihren chose the fleet with General Revil, where his father is! They are so gone, gone, gone. Kycilia is told about the laser and advances. Gihren makes a speech, assured of victory. Feddies aren't giving up yet, preparing a plan to break Baoa's weakpoint. As Amuro, Kai and Sayla leave for battle stations, Hayato has a chat with Fraw. Hmm, suspicious giggles from the kids and Kai.
Today's new MS is Zeong, which has the same psycommu system as the Elmeth. Because the Gelgoog's are gone, Kycilla gives the Zeong to Char. Her ship is approaching Gihren but Gihren seems suspicious of her. While Kycilia reports on what she's doing, Gihren tells her that their father is gone (Destroyed in his ship by the laser because "it was too far ahead in the way") and that no one is in command.
Gihren sends out the Doras ship. With so much destruction going on the Feddie's side, I wonder about the WB's strategy. As the episode contiunes, a new Feddie fleet comes in but Gihren isn't worried; Char deploys in the legless Zeong as a test of his potential Newtype powers. Rick Doms and explosions are all over the screen. As expected, the Fed fleet is getting wiped with WB hanging in there. The Zeong is strong; now that's what I call a MS with a skirt. Amuro and gundam arrives -- with double bazooka! Can it stand up against the Zeong's finger blasts? Amuro has to get to Baoa.
Back at Baoa, tension. Gihren is still confident, and Kycilia is behind him asking why he shot down their father? Gihren was obviously against the negotiations and Kycilia responds to that by shooting him at the back of his head. That's right, not even the Commander in Chief can get away with what he did. Now Kycilia takes command of Baoa, uh-oh. Back at the fighting, I haven't seen a Zaku in a while. How does anyone fly through that laser and missile BS!?!?! Anyways, Kycilla is going to take the battle inside of Baoa; as for Char, he is really trying to drive out the full potential of his Newtype abilities. For now, Amuro has the upper hand.
Next, the curtain drops.
43: Escape
So this is it, the end. So for this one, I just watched. I didn't stop to type, I just watched to get it all over with and typed the summary later after a little rest.
This is what pretty much happened: Char (Zeong) and Amuro (gundam) fought so intensely that they destroyed each others' mobile suits, moving the fight within A Baoa Qu. White Base is downed inside of Baoa and gets surrounded by enemy, and the crew fights back with both hand-held and ship weapons. Char and Amuro have a sword fight, Sayla stops them from fighting; soooo after an eyecatch, Char changes ;/ Kycilla planned to surrender the fortress and retreat with a Zanzibar, but Char kills her brutally. AN UNMASKED Char btw! So handsome. Typical 70s rival look, lol. A Baoa Qu is about to explode with the trapped Feddies but using his Newtype abilities, he sends thoughts to everyone on the WB crew on how to get out.
White Base explodes and everybody escapes, except for Amuro.

Well he didn't make it for like a minute. He managed to get to the escape ships with his core fighter! In 0080, an armistice is signed. Pfff.
Haaa...yes that was fun. It was sad to see the White Base die ;/ after all it's been through, after all the battles, especially Solomon and the start of Baoa, it goes down. The Gundam is destroyed as well; something I like to point out is that Amuro managed to fight without the main camera. He also left the cockpit and it was able to move and fire at the Zeong, still without the camera. That computer must be fantastic to do that...or it's like a suparobo and it sensed the target, lol. Or did he use his Newtype abilities? But I thought that was only possible with the Nu Gundam?
Amuro's Newtyping was really cheapened in this ep. I'm glad he doesn't see himself better than anyone, but he obviously is. He was like a Jedi, able to guide everyone, specifically Sayla who was inside and separated.
Char, you wanted to bring happiness to Newtypes but were going to kill Amuro? Guess it was Lalah dying and his pride as a Zeon soldier vs WB that made him forget why he wanted to get close to the Zabi. Luckily, Sayla intervened.
Oh yeah, some gore! Hooray!
Kycilla gets decapitated by a bazooka shell. The "beam-like shot" go past her head and I couldn't really see, makes me wonder if there's a censored version. Or there was just a lot of brightness (so I saw in a Nico Douga video) or blurriness. It just feels that way. It's incredibly clear on the dub version with her head flying off. Ewww...brutal.
Char is supposedly dead but we can't forget Zeta Gundam. I don't know if I'll get to that. 0080 and 0083 are first. I went to Animage and checked what were considered the best episodes from MS Gundam (1979 - 1980), and I do recall "Cosmic Radiance" and "Escape" being in the top.
