Well, I suppose the most important thing is to just write what makes you happy, and whatever you're comfortable with.
I think that people who write for the sake of getting praise/reviews (and there are lots of them in fandom) are doing so with wrong motives. I mean, writing - like anything else - should be a passion, not a means to attain recognition or approval.
And remember, just cos the majority likes it, doesn't mean it's a good story. The Twilight Saga, for instance.
I'm not trying to tell you how or what to write or anything, Doggie. I'm just trying to show some support and encouragement cos I really believe you do have what it takes to be a brilliant writer. But I just feel that you should write whatever you want, however you want, because YOU love it.
And not to worry if anyone likes it or not, or if others are getting recognition or not. Write for yourself, everything else is just bonus.
