I was wondering if I should even blog about this because I am a naive person when it comes to societal functions. If I did, it'd be political and I'd be called named such as "thug supporter" and "libtard" (whatever that means).
CNN:George Zimmerman found not guilty of murder in Trayvon Martin's death
The above video, and a talk with a co-worker, made me wonder. My mother said, "it's all in the evidence".
I don't like racial prejudice. Frankly, it's quite simple to callbullshit "prejudice"
, or it's quite simple to accuse Zimmerman of using prejudice because of what he said on the phone. Plus, he should have not have gotten out of the car.
I don't agree with this final judgement, so I wonder what everyone was thinking.
Furthermore, some people tried to accuse Trayvon Martin of possessing drugs. He had marijuana in his system from the autopsy, but not on him. Thus, you can't charge him with that if it wasn't present on him. So, that's out. He had questionable text messages on his phone, and a photo of a gun, but you can't charge him with that either. It's very silly. In other words, they were trying to give him the predisposed identity that he was the offender. Who knows? The witnesses, frankly, weren't that helpful.
A young boy looked "suspicious". Think of media and the television; predominately, media brought a criminal light to Latino and African Americans, and those of Islamic religion. Maybe not intentionally, maybe it depends on the region (ie: Detroit have wide racial and religion cultures).
Cops, Bait Car, crime/gangster documentaries, music, NEWS, etc. My parents were racist in a way, but I often disagreed. Even if we exist in such a culture, we have to make the choice in not following it.
Frankly, I blame Martin for enforcing such an identity. To play, and say that "im a gangsta", and having a firearm, like it's something cute. Why else would Zimmerman say/do what he said/did? I doubt he knew the boy, but where did the suspicious feeling bred from? Course I can also say that Zimmerman was just crazy in the head and would've hunted anyone at night. A serial killer in the making.
But even gangsters or "wanna be" gangsters are not ignored of justice when shot. When there's a shooter, an accuser and possible witnesses are looked forhopefully.
I can hear different stories: How Zimmerman was doing the right thing and fought in self defense, how Martin jumped out of the bushes, how he had Zims in the head, etc.
Who knows? It was at night. But this could have been more smooth if there were actual injuries present.
Aside from this, babysitting is making me grouchy. The munchkin has a big mouth.
I haven't blogged in a while so maybe everything looks a bit messy. I can't read either. (u.u;)
