Doggie Week (Nov 17): Michigan Ninjas
Nov. 17th, 2012 01:01 pmHELLO NEW LJ FRIENDS!
So, today is Saturday, November 17.
Week has been on and off. Happy Tuesday because of Job leads, even though it led me to a burnt out brain (espsically Thursday). I felt like I was trying out for ASVAB.
This time, niece came over Thursday and is staying over until Sunday (tomorrow) evening. She's getting quite comfortable with sliding off the beds lately. Twice, she woke up way early in the morning and momentarily wandered off from where she was sleeping. This morning was pretty much like:
Me: *Leaves bedroom for a moment*
Niece: *Wakes up later; slides off bed.
Me: *hears a thunk, but assuming it's furnace* "...?" *hear shallow footstep* "Nah, can't be."
Niece: *appears at my room door*
Me: It's you?!
N: =D *Walks up and hugs*
In virtually all cases, when she wakes up, she whines/cries. Didn't hear it so...
Go to set up the crib again. For those who wondering, the situation is complicated, so her crib is useless. She often sleeps in bed.
The Mafia Tale ends
Serialization for Katekyo Hitman Reborn has ended. I began when the plot was within the TYL arc; I started at the beginning and had to reach up to the recent chapters (over 200 chapters). Stuck with the comic until the end.
Umm, grew fond the story and the characters. I was surprised that KHR turned from a goofy plot that introduced the characters and Tsuna to the mafia life, to serious when Mukuro and Varia arrived. Next thing you know, I see people getting their necks broken (at least that's what I assumed what happened to Tsuna with Byakuran), nearly torn to shreds, smashed, biten, impaled, etc.
Personally, I think KHR had terrible villains. Either XANXUS or Spade was the best. Byakuran...he showed A LOT of power, but in his end of the TYL arc, he felt like a letdown for a bad guy. Is the theme here is that you can play with a lot of power? Which fits quite well for a crime boss, whether he's childish or not, but I don't know. You might think, he's really crazy. Has some kind of psychiatric/personality disorder. He's like the Riddler who delights in making the heroes miserable with his fun and games because he's into challenges. But I don't think it reflected that well with him. How he formed the Milliefiore was good.
Also, the Vindice. Ugh...Bermuda? Last battle was just terrible. Bermuda was completely overpowered; Amano can draw some lovely punch art though. Also, why is Vindice even protectors of the mafia law anyway considering their background? Bored? What is it inspired from? And what about the previous generations that they could've allied with to beat Checkerface? If that is worded right.
To my humor, after his combat trick was figured out, it looked like Jager wasn't that much of a threat.
Then there's Jesus-Checkerface himself. I'm calling him Jesus because he acts like a creator, has been around for who knows when, doing whatever means nessesary to protect some power stones for the earth, even if he has to curse people. Why was the Tri-ni-set even so important, to allow people to be cursed into baby bodies with a short lifespan? he said the "balance of the world" (and they are based on nature). Still, it was the end of the manga when this was revealed. It felt unnessary. There was relief, but I felt like a waste.
Daemon Spade was cool, if the best villain of KHR. Self-important and deadly.
Storytelling should have rules with consistency.
NARUTO: In the 400s (spoiler)
Small thoughts on the recent chapter. And I mean the "right now" chapters.
Everything started to so normal, like back in Part 1.
I understand that building tension and keeping us guessing just to flip the readers around is a good story element, but the ENTIRE world of NARUTO is a tad close to entering a dream world because someone is quite sad.
Couldn't Tobi just revive Rin? Either Madara is toying with Obito, or does he really want peace? Isn't the Uchiha's main problem hate/revenge because they were unfairly mistreated? Okay, I understand that maybe Madara wants some relief from that (or does he?)
And what about outside of the Moon Eye illusion? Is everyone going to be in a dream or are those with the Magenkyo sharingan (Sas, Madara, Obito) going to deflect the illusions and just wander the planet?
I wonder what Madara's true wet dream is...fighting Hashirama everytime?
Just go by yourselves, darn it. Don't take everyone else. It'll still be escapism.
Saint Seiya Omega
I can't rate this show higher until they can draw the combat better. it doesn't have to be bloody, like old Seiya, but most of it is just lazy-looking.
