My Week and a Misunderstanding + VAs
Mar. 14th, 2012 11:53 amHello Wednesday. I am tired.
...I want to ring my sister's neck sometime, because if I don't get a little rest, I get cranky. Little sleep, little brain power you know? Having a lack of focus, no matter little it may seem, is a big bother to me.
To add on to watching my niece (which the above mentioned should be doing more when she has time and NOT complain about it), is having to watch my parents, particularly dad. Between the parent(s) and the baby, I sit down and get up within a short amount of time. It's tiresome.
If there's one thing I'm happy about it's the weather/climate. Finally changing to fit the times. It is getting warmer, the sun is easier to see and has a more golden shine to it as the dull weather goes away. Also, heavy winds and rain throughout last week. Definitely a sign of Spring.
As for my dad, a misunderstanding. He may have surgery around 1-2 months time. He just needs to prepare for it. A little concerned because of the long wait and the description of the surgery. What are we? Cars?
LEGENDARY Voice Over
An interesting topic: Characters Who Should Never Change Voice Actors
OF course, VAs don't last forever. I'm sure there are many people we never want changed.
Son Goku himself, or Nozawa Masako herself, is a legend in cartoon history. Technically, Goku started off as a comic character but intentionally Dragonball became famous because of the animation. I'm stll shocked she got to play Goku for as enjoyably long as she did and U.S English Goku had like three or four voices? When she returned to Kai, it was still an astonishment.
I heard English version first, then Japanese, and I thought Nozawa version was peculiar at first. But somehow, she has an interesting charm that makes the show fun to watch. Isn't that not important?
Furuya Toru as Amuro Rei is mentioned too. When reminds me, totally psyched about two things:
1. That he's returning as Seiya in the upcoming show "Saint Seiya Omega".
2. THAT MIDORIN (Midorikawa Hikaru) is the main character in Saint Seiya Omega, KOGA
I'm split in between watching and not watching. I wouldn't call myself a fan because I haven't watched any of the previous content. If I watch, will I understand? I was reading the "LOST CANVAS" comic but stopped somewhere.
Fujiko Mine of Lupin III recently changed from Masuyama Eiko to Sawashiro Miyuki. I never heard Sawashiro's so I can't make an opinion. Eiko herself still sounds very pretty at around 70 years old much to my surprise. I can at least say that even if she's not able to maintain the Mine role. I recommend listening to "Love Squall" (ラヴ・スコール), Fujiko's song.
In the same article, I also see Kenshin Himura (Suzukaze Mayo), Vegeta (Horikawa Ryo), Asuka of EVA, Chopper of ONE PIECE (O-ta-ni!) and Nausicaä (Shimamoto Sumi).
Hmm, regarding the same topic, I wonder what would it be for American characters and voice actors?
I would say Mickey Mouse but I think he had changed a few times already. So did Donald Duck, which I thought sounded a tiny bit terrible in Kingdom Hearts?
How about Jim Cummings's Pete?
And Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill's Batman and Joker? I think Hamill said he was done voicing Joker (unless Conroy was involved) but his Joker was great! There's his and Kevin Michael Richardson's Joker. There's also Batman in Brave and the Bold, pretty dignified and akin to Adam West. There was also various Spidermans that I can't pick at all.
...who could it be?
Vid time: Eiko Masyama in MAPLUS 2 (2007). The real Cutie honey ;)
