Free me from Ignorance

I like direction...

Like I said in my previous entry, I think some of us don't retain what we learn and just need to fill in some "mind holes", or maybe we just don't know much.

I'm a bit ashamed about being an American. Maybe about the "American education being low" is truly correct. Hmm, or maybe the best word is "concerned". So I voted...because I felt like it was important, and it's a right to make your nation the way you want it. It's democracy, put your word out there.

But Politics and Economics are tantalizing. Here's where I get frustrated: When I want to vote, I want to know why.

I don't want to entirely vote out of passion but it turns out, and I'm sure this happens with a lot of under 30 voters and first time voters, that we don't have much awareness on the who and what except

For my own district, for local government, I think I was only familiar with the names of a few people. One who stuck out to me the most was a Court Judge. I think I met the guy once. There are election "Please vote [name]" signs but why do they tell me to vote for these particular people? is there something I'm supposed to watch on the radio or TV?

Moving further...

I had economics and government classes in HS; wasn't too good with the former. So in Economics, you learn a bit of basics. If I recall, you learn like capital and distribution. In Government, you learn about the Congress and executive branch, different forms of government, United States Constitution and its history, etc. Government was easier to me than Economics.

I don't remember much of anything. It is probably out of carelessness. It's not like I tried to pursue it.

So, Republican Rick Synder won Governor spot (luckily he has a website and wiki article). I thought it was House because that was bad eyesight on my part. I didn't know the darn results of the House member choices until this morning. All of the districts are Democratic I believe.

Carl Levin and Stabbenow are still Michigan's Senators. I think they're immortal, lol.

SO what am I rambling about?

I had this idea on making a youtube video for aspiring voters or those who want to get into politics, what do they want to look for, what do they want to do, what does a word/term mean?

but I feel like my knowledge on it is too small. I, myself, want to become more understandable in my nation as well. Fully, hammered down, set.
